    Nahid Ahmed is the Founder and Executive Chef at Luthun, a progressive American eatery in the East Village. Originally from England, Chef Nahid spent his early years traveling around the world and embracing his Indian Bengali heritage. Believing that food should create a lasting memory, his cuisine reflects these international travels and focuses on bringing his diners on a surprising and delightful journey to the places that informed his childhood. An avid soccer player, Chef Nahid got into cooking when a career-ending injury sent him home. At the time, Chef was unsure of what the next phase of his life would bring and he ended up following a few close friends to cooking school. A graduate of the ICI International Culinary Schoolin Switzerland, Chef went on to spend time in many notable kitchens around the world including Lespinasse, The Fat Duck, El Bulli, Phillip Rochard, and Cafe Gray. At Luthun, memories take the form of food on the plate – allowing guests to understand Chef Nahid and his life’s travels and work through fork and knife.

    Chef Alex Bristow, the talented Chef de Cuisine at Luthun restaurant, has always had a deep-rooted passion for food, inspired by cherished memories of cooking alongside his parents. This early love for the culinary arts led him to pursue his dreams at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America. After graduating, Alex honed his skills as a lead line cook at The Revelry before making the move to New York City. There, he worked under the guidance of Chef Chung Chow at Noreetuh, where he excelled as a sous chef, refining his craft and developing a deep appreciation for bold, globally inspired flavors. At Luthun, Alex continues to push boundaries, helping to create innovative dishes that reflect his diverse culinary background and passion for exploration.
